A large-scale study to determine the extent of the spread of coronavirus will soon begin to be conducted in Georgia. On August 5, the head of the National Center for Disease Control Amiran Gamkrelidze told reporters, according to Public Television. The doctor explained that they will study blood serum to identify what percentage of Georgian residents suffered COVID-19. According to him, the study will begin in ten days. It should provide information on how many people in the country have suffered the disease and what is the approximate prevalence rate of this infection, Gamkrelidze said. It is worth noting that on August 5 in Georgia revealed 1,197 carriers of coronavirus. Of these, 974 won SARS-CoV-2, which exceeds 80% of the total number of cases detected. 17 patients with COVID-19 died.
