Pushkov responded to the statement of the British Ministry of Foreign Affairs about Putin's words about his parents

Member of the Federation Council Committee on State Construction and Constitutional Legislation Alexey Pushkov (Perm Krai) assessed the statement of the British Ministry of Foreign Affairs about the words of Russian President Vladimir Putin commitment to the terms mother and dad. Pushkov published a statement on his Twitter microblog page. We remind that Putin, at a meeting with a working group to prepare amendments to the Constitution of Russia, said that while he is the head of state, Russia will not have parent No. 1 and parent No. 2, but will have traditional mother and dad. The fact is that in a number of countries of the West the struggle for gender equality has long crossed the line of absurd. For example, in official documents of parents it is prohibited to designate as mother or father, the terms parent No. 1 and parent No. 2 are used. The British Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for some reason, decided not to ignore Putin's words. The Forin Office said it called on the world to combat discrimination against sexual minorities, and stressed that same-sex marriage was a pride in London. Pushkov noted that the pathos statement of the British Ministry of Foreign Affairs is not quite clear. If the United Kingdom wants to call a parent one and two, or have children without gender, it's entirely their business. We don 't impose anything on them. But we will not accept concepts alien to us, writes Pushkov.
