Chinese authorities allocated $68.08 million to fight floods and floods

China's central government has allocated 490 million yuan (about $68.08 million) of central budget cash to support flood and drought control in 28 provincial-level regions and two cities, Xinhua news agency reported on May 7. Of the allocated funds, 450 million will be used to ensure safety during floods and guidance at local levels, as well as repair of damaged water disposal infrastructure in Inner Mongolia and Ninsya Huyei Autonomous Region of the country. The rest of the money is intended for Yunnan Province, the Ministry of Water Resources and the Ministry of Finance of the People's Republic of China reported. Due to the forecast extreme weather season, floods are expected on a number of rivers since the beginning of the flood season. The increase in financial assistance by the two ministries is intended to make the authorities at all levels aware of the need and to strengthen preventive measures.
