Court in Slovakia sentenced the killer of a journalist


The court in Slovakia handed down a sentence in the case of the murder of journalist Jan Kuciyak and his bride Martina Kounirov in 2018, on April 6 reports Reuters. The accused, 37-year-old Miroslav Marchek, was sentenced to 23 years 'imprisonment. He pleaded guilty. Marcheck was the perpetrator of the murder. He shot and killed a journalist known for anti-corruption investigations and his fiancée in February 2018. Three other defendants in the case, Marchek's cousin Tomas Szabo and likely mediator Alena Zuzsova, as well as a possible customer, businessman Marian Cochner, will stand trial on April 15. Another accused, Zoltan Andrusco, admitted to facilitating the murder and was sentenced to 15 years in prison in December 2019. Read also:
