25% of oil towers stopped working in Iran due to sanctions - mass media

At least 25% of all Iranian oil towers stopped operating due to U.S. sanctions, Reuters reported on March 10. According to journalists, since the beginning of 2018 oil production has halved to 2 million barrels per day. This is because refineries around the world have stopped cooperating with Tehran. Recall that in 2015, the administration of former US President Barack Obama concluded an agreement with Iran, according to which Tehran pledged to freeze the nuclear program in exchange for partial lifting of sanctions. New US President Donald Trump terminated the agreement in May 2018, imposing new sanctions on Iran, including those affecting the country's oil industry.
