President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and the leadership of the head of state's office do not interfere in the process of preparing and holding local elections, the office said in a statement released on August 14. the news agency notes that in this way Zelensky apparently responds to information from a number of media outlets that the leadership and a number of CEC members were invited to the president's office for a loyalty conversation. Zelensky was reminded that the Central Election Commission of Ukraine is an independent collegiate state body that exercises its powers independently, independently of other state authorities. Neither the president nor representatives of the office of the head of state held meetings with the head of the Central Election Commission and other members of the CEC and did not put forward any demands to them, the statement said. Recall that local elections in Ukraine should be held on October 25 this year.
