Named the most purchased car in Europe

In August 2020, the Volkswagen Golf model became the leader in sales in the European car market. This was reported on the website of the research company JATO Dynamics. In just a month, Golf acquired 22,386 European motorists, which is 15% less than a year ago. In second place of the European championship was the French model Renault Clio. Dealers managed to realize this car in the amount of 16,399 copies. Here, sales remained at last year's level. Peugeot 208 closes the top three with a result of 15,382 cars sold (+ 18%). In the fourth and fifth places of the list, respectively, were Opel/Vauxhall Corsa (15,261 units; + 7%) and Skoda Octavia (15,122 units; 5%). Earlier, the German company Volkswagen introduced its first serial electric crossover called ID.4. The first copies of the novelty will go on sale on the European market at the end of 2020, but in the USA an electric crossover will appear no earlier than the beginning of 2021.
