Putin and Merkel support prisoner exchange in Donbass

Russian President Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor Angela Merkel expressed their approval of the earlier exchange of prisoners in the territory of Donbass. This is reported by the Kremlin press service. The issue of the settlement of the internal Ukrainian conflict is discussed in detail. A positive assessment was given of the exchange of detained persons between Kiev, the DNR and the LPR the other day, the message reads. The sides stressed the need for consistent implementation of the Minsk Set of measures and decisions adopted at the summits in the Normandy format: It was noted, in particular, that the Ukrainian authorities should comply with the obligations on the political aspects of the settlement, including the legislative consolidation of the special status of Donbass.
